DESCRIPTION:Join us for our free Sustainable Saturday event on the theme of Sustainable Fashion. \n\n\n\nEvent starts at 10.30am and runs until 2.30pm. \n\n\n\nWe will have lots of activities focused on Sustainable Fashion including: \n\n\n\nClothes swap: £1 per bag: Bring your own bag.  If you are donating clothes to swap please ensure they are clean and in a good condition \n\n\n\nProm outfit giveaway: find a posh frock\, suit and accessories (bags\, costume jewellery\, shoes) to wear to your school or college prom \n\n\n\nRag rug demonstration: advice and information on ways to make rag rugs using waste fabric  \n\n\n\nMending & darning advice: all materials provided\, no need to book – just turn up to get tips on how to mend damaged clothing \n\n\n\n1pm: Making yarn out of a T-shirt demonstration (20 minutes)   \n\n\n\nArts and craft book giveaway – bring along any books to donate or swap \n\n\n\nSwap and Giveaway: Swap for free or take any item for a pay as you can donation including household items\, books\, DVD’s\, toys. By sharing resources we can reduce our carbon emissions and save money too. \n\n\n\nRecycling: Make use of our recycling facilities including Terracycle (please see the Terracycle Telford Facebook page for details of what you can recycle).  Please note we cannot take Tetrapak cartons.   \n\n\n\nWe also offer the opportunity to recycle mobile phones\, electronic gadgets\, jewellery\, stamps and coins (see posters below for details). \n\n\n\nWe are also collecting old mobile phones in our collection point on behalf of local Coalport company Connected Mobiles who reuse and recycle them. Please ensure you have reset your old phone before donating it.  \n\n\n\nEco Library: Explore our new eco library of amazing books and magazines which you can borrow on Nature\, climate and living life in a more sustainable way. \n\n\n\nLeaflet stand advertising other organisations who are working on local climate and eco action. Lunch served from 12pm onwards.  \n\n\n\nPlant based drinks and snacks served at the event for a pay as you can donation

Bring your own unwanted clothes to swap or take for a small donation. Fill a bag for £1! \n\n\n\nShropshire Wildlife Trust will be with us\, looking to recruit volunteers to their Environmental Leadership Programme for 18-25 year olds  \n\n\n\nAfter lunch from 1:30pm: \n\n\n\nDarning workshop teaching mending skills and Demonstration on ways to use old garments to create something new\, provided by Telford Repair Cafe sewing experts. \n\n\n\nCreative making session: Use your imagination to create something amazing with pom poms! \n\n\n\nDisplay ‘Letters from the Global South’ – an exhibition about the effects of climate change on those countries which are both least responsible and most vulnerable to it. \n\n\n\nRecycling: Make use of our recycling facilities including Terracycle and the opportunity to recycle mobile phones\, electronic gadgets\, jewellery\, stamps and coins (see posters below for full details).  \n\n\n\nEco Library: Explore our new eco library of amazing books and magazines which you can borrow on Nature\, climate and living life in a more sustainable way. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImage of items you can recycle including jewellery\, coins\, stamps\, mobile phones.

We will have adults\, childrens and baby clothes and school uniform to giveaway.  \n\n\n\nBring items to swap for free or take any items for a pay as you can donation.  \n\n\n\nClimate Action Hub Telford is a registered charity which aims to support people in Telford and Wrekin to take climate action & protect our planet by reusing & sharing things.  This lowers carbon emissions by reducing the need to buy new stuff and reducing the amount of waste going to landfill. It also helps us to support each other as our activities are provided on a pay-as-you-can basis. A win-win for people and planet.
