DESCRIPTION:The event will feature:  \n\n\n\n\nThe Little Green Pantry providing tips and advice on how to keep your home clean using natural products that are not harmful to us or the environment. Some of the products will be available to try out and/or purchase. \n\n\n\n\n\nPlant swap and giveaway including seedlings of tomatoes and vegetables and annual pollinator friendly flowers like marigolds and cosmos\, perennial plant seedlings\, edible plants (herbs\, fruit canes)\, seeds and indoor plants. Take for a small pay-as-you-can donation. \n\n\n\n\n\nGarden scrap stall (including second hand garden equipment\, tools\, pots etc). Bring along any items to swap or donate and take anything you want for a donation. \n\n\n\n\n\nFree gardening books and magazines \n\n\n\n\n\nDawley Community Garden will be on hand to advise on setting up a pond in your garden and will have a range of pond plants to giveaway for a small donation.    \n\n\n\n\n\nTransition Telford will be present with information on how you can get involved – and more seeds!  \n\n\n\n\n\nEco activity for children: we will be making and painting Easter baskets from egg boxes – just in time for Easter Sunday egg hunts! \n\n\n\n\n\nOur Swap Corner will be open for donations and browsing including books\, DVD’s\, CD’s\, household items\, clothes\, toys etc.  \n\n\n\n\nFree energy saving measures for your home: provided by Marches Energy Agency including LED lightbulbs\, insulating tape\, timers for appliances\, humidity sensors\, electric blankets\, draught excluders.   \n\n\n\n\nLeaflet stand advertising other organisations who are working on local climate and eco action  \n\n\n\n\n\nRecycling: including Terracycle (please see the Terracycle Telford Facebook page for details of what you can recycle)\, electronic gadgets\, jewellery\, stamps and coins.  \n\n\n\n\n\nOld mobile phone collection point courtesy of local Coalport company Connected Mobiles.   Please reset your phone to factory setting if possible before you donate so they can be reused. \n\n\n\n\nBring along any small unwanted electrical items for us to recycle  \n\n\n\n\nEco Library: borrow books and magazines on Nature\, climate and living life in a more sustainable way. \n\n\n\n\nFree Refreshments: a delicious range of hot and cold food and drinks with lunch served from 12pm. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our free Sustainable Saturday event on the theme of Sustainable Christmas! \n \nEvent starts at 10.30am and runs until 2.30pm and includes the following festive activities: \n \n\nChristmas themed swap: toys\, gift items\, clothing\, decorations and gift wrap to swap or take for a pay-as-you-can donation. Please bring unwanted gifts and Christmas items to swap. \n\n\nChristmas wreath workshop: have a go at making a festive wreath for your home. All materials provided. This workshop will be ongoing throughout the event. Please consider making a small donation to cover our costs. \n\n\nChristmas wrap and tags printing: print your own Christmas gift wrap and tags. This activity is suitable for adults or children. NB we will be using acrylic paints and inks which can stain clothing. \n\n\nMake your own Christmas decorations: have a go at making a paper snowflake type decoration. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our free Sustainable Saturday event on the theme of Sustainable Energy Advice for the Home. \n\n\n\nEvent starts at 10.30am and runs until 2.30pm. \n\n\n\nWorkshops & talks   \n\n\n\n\n10.30am – 12pm: Telford Repair Cafe will provide a 1 hour workshop for you to make a sausage dog draft excluder out of waste fabric and clothes (All materials provided) \n\n\n\n\n\n12-12.15pm and 1.45pm-2pm: Marches Energy Agency will provide a 15 minute mini workshop on the Home Energy Audit Tool (H.E.A.T app) which shows how much energy electrical appliances in the home cost to run and help you learn how to save money\, energy and carbon. \n\n\n\n\n\n1pm-1.45pm: 30 minutes presentation by Mike King who will talk about how he made his bungalow the greenest house in Telford plus Q and A \n\n\n\n\nStallholders and activities   \n\n\n\n\nMarches Energy Agency will: \n\n\n\nGive out free energy saving measures to install in your home including LED lightbulbs\, insulating tape\, timers for appliances\, humidity sensors\, electric blankets\, draught excluders etc.  \n\n\n\nProvide information and advice about how to keep warm this winter including how to access financial help. \n\n\n\nAdvice on how to make your home more energy efficient & sustainable will be provided by:  \n\n\n\n\n\nShropshire Climate Action: providing information and their step by step retrofit toolkits to guide you through what changes you can make in your home \n\n\n\n\n\nHouseholders will answer your questions about the energy saving measures they have installed in their homes (including solar\, batteries and heat pumps) including:  \n\n\n\n\n\nDemonstration of vehicle to load (V2L) technology: showing how to use an electric car to power household appliances (the car will be parked outside Belmont Hall and be used to provide free cups of hot coffee!) \n\n\n\n\n\nShropshire and Telford Community Energy information stand     \n\n\n\n\n\nLeaflet stand advertising other organisations who are working on local climate and eco action  \n\n\n\n\n\nSwap and Giveaway: Swap for free or take any item for a pay as you can donation including household items\, books\, DVD’s\, toys. Composting tips will also be provided. \n\n\n\nFood share table – have a rummage in your kitchen and bring along any packaged food you would like to rehome (items can be past their Best Before date but not their Use by date)  \n\n\n\nClimate Action Hub Telford plant based recipe cards for you to take \n\n\n\nKitchen equipment and cookery and gardening book swap and giveaway: bring any kitchen  items or cookery or gardening books along to swap.  \n\n\n\nEdible plant giveaway including plant seedlings and seed potatoes with growing advice from local expert The Green Cargo Gardener  \n\n\n\nShropshire Organics and The Little Green Pantry information stand about the local refill shop and the new local organic veg box scheme  \n\n\n\nInformation display about the carbon emissions associated with different food types and Grow Local booklet of community food growing projects in Telford and Wrekin  \n\n\n\nLow energy cooking appliances stand with an air fryer\, induction hob and slow cooker and comparing the energy use for each appliance vs conventional cookers \n\n\n\nSwap and giveaway for any household items\, books\, DVD’s\, toys\, clothes to swap for free or take for a pay as you can donation.  If you have any Christmas gifts that need rehoming bring those along too!  \n\n\n\nLeaflet stand with information from local eco groups you can get involved with \n\n\n\nEco library: Explore & borrow our eco library of books and magazines on Nature\, climate and living life in a more sustainable way.    \n\n\n\nTerracycle and recycling facilities and the opportunity to recycle electronic gadgets\, jewellery\, stamps and coins (see poster below).  Connected Mobile will be with us again providing advice and a collection point for any unwanted mobile phones. DESCRIPTION:We will be doing a Swap and Giveaway for all your unwanted books\, DVD’s\, CD’s\, games\, toys\, clothes\, ornaments and household items.  Swap for free or take anything on a pay-as-you-can basis.   \n\n\n\nTelford Repair Cafe will be repairing electrical items\, clothes\, home furnishings\, soft toys\, ornaments\, household items and PAT testing electrical items.  Please bring any items for repair before 1pm. \n\n\n\nTerracycle Telford will be with us so bring along any hard to recycle items. See posters below for details. \n\n\n\nMarches Energy Agency will also be joining us to provide energy efficiency advice for your home\, advice on whole house retrofit and information about the grants that are available.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImage of items you can recycle including jewellery\, coins\, stamps\, mobile phones.
