DESCRIPTION:Come along to our Clothes Swap and Giveaway where you will be able to swap or take any men’s\, women’s & children’s clothes and accessories. \n\n\n\nOne way we can reduce our carbon emissions and environmental impact is to reuse and share clothes.   The Fast Fashion industry is responsible for a significant portion of global emissions with cheap garments travelling thousands of miles.   These cheap garments all too often are worn once and discarded\, if they even get to customers in the first place.    \n\n\n\nOur Swap and Giveaway event is designed to keep unwanted clothes out of landfill and get them back into use. \n\n\n\nWe will also be doing a teddy tombola on our stall.  We have over 200 preloved teddies in need of new homes.  50p per go and every ticket wins a teddy!    \n\n\n\nOur stall will be outside the Green Cove in Wellington Market.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday 12th November 10:45am – 12pm: Clang for COP in Ironbridge is back as part of the Global Justice Coalition’s Global Day of Action . Meet at Dale End at 10:45 for a march up to the Iron Bridge. \n\n\n\nWe are joining Deep Water and other environmental groups around Telford as part of the GLOBAL JUSTICE COALITION’s day of global action to ‘Call the Alarm’.  Together\, we are demanding an end to climate and other injustices\, and an urgent response from governments and leaders to climate breakdown and other multiple linked crises. Unfortunately\, our UK presidency of COP26 has ended in failure. Carbon emissions continue to rise. Fracking ‘flip flops’ back on the agenda and new oil field licenses are being planned here in the UK. Water companies continue to use our rivers as open sewers and the destruction of wildlife habitat increases. As human induced carbon emissions continue to rise climate breakdown heats the planet.  Flooding\,  storms and drought will further test our inadequate infrastructure.  As flood waters increase\, Combined Sewer Outfalls (CSO’s) pump sewage into our streams and rivers including the River Severn.   This mixes with a toxic mix of chemicals from agriculture and makes its way to the sea.  When the sea dies so do we. Our governments across the world are failing to keep us safe. Despite promises and targets\, fossil fuel extraction and emissions continue to rise.  Last week the latest scientific evidence presented by the UN indicates that the target of limiting global heating to 1.5 degrees appears dead in the water.   \n\n\n\nSo please join us for a family-oriented event on the 12th Nov.  Listen to our speakers and get involved with one of the many groups sponsoring the event.  We invite you to bring pots\, pans\, drums and anything you can use to send a loud message to our leaders that we want CLIMATE ACTION NOW!

DESCRIPTION:While world leaders are meeting in Egypt from the 6th to the 18th November for COP27\, Wellington Orbit will be showing several films to help raise awareness of the climate and ecological crisis we face.  At all the film showings donations will be collected in aid of the devastating climate related flooding in Pakistan. \n\n\n\nOn Tuesday 8th November there will be 2 showings at 2.30pm and 7pm of the award winning documentary “All That Breathes”\, described as a “soaring visual masterpiece” is a documentary “set in New Dehli where amongst the city’s toxic air and escalating violence 2 brothers\, Nadeem Shehzad and Mohammad Saud\, devote their lives to protect one casualty of the turbulent times: the bird known as the Black Kite”.   \n\n\n\nClimate Action Hub Telford and XR Telford are sponsoring these showings.  \n\n\n\nFrom 11-2pm we will have a stand in Wellington outside The Orbit shared by other environmental groups so people can access information about how they can get more involved in local climate\, wildlife and environmental activities and actions.

DESCRIPTION:We will be doing a Garden Scrap Store for all your bottling and jam making needs at Transition Telford’s Harvest Local Event – where you can also share all your garden produce and take any fresh fruit\, vegetables\, cakes\, preserves and cakes for a pay as you can donation. Telford Repair Cafe will also be there to repair any broken items you have – so bring any damaged clothes\, electronics\, household items\, IT equipment along to be mended.
