Sustainable Sunday event, Wellington

Join our Sustainable Sunday event in Wellington focused on gardening advice including composting, growing food, community allotments, wildlife friendly gardening and more…. with an additional swap, recycling facilities and eco library.

This event is FREE. 

Refreshments and vegan snacks available on a pay-as-you-can basis.

• 11am-12.30pm hot and cold drinks and cakes/biscuits available
• 12.30pm onwards hot and cold lunch options served

11am: Event starts.

11am-3pm: Join our fun eco activities for all ages, information & advice stands & talks on composting, growing food, community allotments, wildlife friendly gardening including:

Shropshire Wildlife Trust: Gardening for wildlife & information about the Environmental Leadership Programme for 18-25 year olds

Climate Action Hub Telford: eco activities including seed planting and making bugs in mugs hotels

Leaflet stand advertising other organisations who are working on local climate and eco action and including information about WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms), Havenhills Field and Kitchen, Shropshire Good Food Partnership and a Biodiversity tick list for your gardens.

Plant giveaway & garden scrap store (including tree and shrub seedlings, fruit canes, fruit and veg plants, herbs and more, gardening books, garden pots and waste items that can be used for growing food). You can bring plants, seeds and gardening equipment along to swap or to donate and take anything you want for a pay as you can donation.  

Swap and Giveaway: Swap for free or take any item for a pay as you can donation including household items, books, DVD’s, toys, clothes. By sharing resources we can reduce our carbon emissions and save money too.

Recycling: Make use of our recycling facilities including Terracycle and the opportunity to recycle mobile phones, electronic gadgets, jewellery, stamps and coins (see posters below for full details).

Eco Library: Explore & borrow our eco library of amazing books and magazines on Nature, climate and living life in a more sustainable way.
