Join our first Sustainable Sunday event in Wellington to get your green New Year resolutions off to a good start with a film showing about climate change, a climate cafe, information stands from local eco groups showing the actions you can take, a regifting swap, recycling facilities and eco library.
Come along to all or part of this FREE event.
11am: Doors open: Vegan snacks and drinks available before the film showing starts at 11.15am.
11.15am-1pm: Film Showing: We are showing award winning film ‘Once you Know‘ (PG) about the climate crisis. 1 hour 45 mins.
1-3pm: The following activities will be available
Information stands: Find out about what local eco groups are doing and how you can get involved (including Transition Telford; Shropshire Cycle Hub; Shropshire and Telford Community Energy, Big Solar Coop, Telford Repair Cafe, My Low Carbon).
Regifting swap: You can swap any items for free or take any for a pay as you can donation. Includes Christmas gifts, clothes, household items, books, DVD’s, toys etc. By sharing our resources we can reduce our carbon emissions and save money too.
Recycling: Make use of our recycling facilities including Terracycle and the new opportunity to recycle mobile phones, electronic gadgets, jewellery, stamps and coins (see posters below for full details).
Eco Library: Explore our new eco library of amazing books and magazines which you can borrow on Nature, climate and living life in a more sustainable way.
Refreshments and vegan snacks available.
2pm – 3pm: Climate Cafe: alongside the afternoon activities we will also hold a climate cafe being facilitated by Ellie Meredith. Inspired by the 161+ founders of climate cafés across 46 countries, from Force of Nature, we want to make space for young people to explore their climate anxiety and channel it into meaningful, tangible actions that make a difference in our community.

A safe and inclusive space: Our café will be a safe haven for open discussions, where everyone’s perspective is valued, and all are welcome to share their thoughts and ideas. Signposting to mental health organisations Workshop, activities and brainstorming session. Call to action: kick-starting community projects
