Join our Sustainable Sunday event in Wellington focused on sustainable food ideas with an additional swap, recycling facilities and eco library.
This event is FREE.
Refreshments and vegan snacks available on a pay-as-you-can basis including Morag’s Bakes‘ delicious cakes
- 11am-12.30pm hot and cold drinks and cakes/biscuits available
- 12.30pm onwards hot and cold lunch options served
11am: Event starts
During the morning there will be:
11.15am: talk by Shropshire Good Food Partnership talking about Shropshire Food Trail and the work of SGFP with local food producers and eateries
11.45am: Climate Action Hub Telford will run a sustainable cooking workshop demonstrating how to make a plant based chickpea curry in a slow cooker. Recipe cards with zero waste food tips available to take away
12.15pm: Climate Action Hub Telford sustainable cooking workshop for children making plant based tacos for lunch or to take away
All day there will be information stands:
Shropshire Good Food Partnership: information about the local food trail and local food producers in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin
Vegan/plant based diets with some vegan products for sale
Zero waste food ideas from The Little Green Pantry
Information on carbon emissions and food from Save our Shropshire
Low energy cooking appliances demonstration table: including air fryer, induction hob and slow cooker
Edible plant giveaway stand – including herbs, fruit and veg plants
Swap and Giveaway: Swap for free or take any item for a pay as you can donation including household items, books, DVD’s, toys, clothes. By sharing resources we can reduce our carbon emissions and save money too. This will include a giveaway table for free cook books, recipes and kitchen equipment so if you want to have a clear out do bring any items along.
Recycling: Make use of our recycling facilities including Terracycle (please see the Terracycle Telford Facebook page for details of what you can recycle). We also offer the opportunity to recycle mobile phones, electronic gadgets, jewellery, stamps and coins (see posters below for details).
Eco Library: Explore our new eco library of amazing books and magazines which you can borrow on Nature, climate and living life in a more sustainable way including vegan cook books.
