Sustainable Saturday event – Wildlife Friendly Gardening, Belmont Hall, Wellington

Wildlife friendly gardening tips, talks and advice including:

Shropshire Organic Master Composter information stand providing advice on composting.

Plant swap and giveaway: including pollinator friendly plant seedlings, edible plants (herbs, fruit canes, seed potatoes, broad bean seedlings), seeds and indoor plants. 

Garden scrap stall including garden equipment, tools, pots etc. Take any items for a pay as you can donation.

Gardening book and magazine giveaway 

11-12pm: Talk on Wildlife Gardening by expert Nancy Lowe. With additional information on the impact of pesticides, both on wildlife and on humans by way of our food. Information leaflets to take home and keep for reference 

Tech advice stand – how to install free Linux Mint system onto your laptop or PC to replace Microsoft Windows 10.   

Free energy saving measures – with support from Marches Energy Agency we will have the following devices for you to install in your home including LED lightbulbs, insulating tape, timers for appliances, humidity sensors, electric blankets, draught excluders and more!  

Leaflet stand advertising other organisations who are working on local climate and eco action  

Recycling: including Terracycle (please see the Terracycle Telford Facebook page or our website for details of what you can recycle), electronic gadgets, jewellery, stamps and coin.

Eco Library: borrow books and magazines on Nature, climate and living life in a more sustainable way. 

Free Plant Based Refreshments including festive treats and lunch served from 12pm.
